Windsurfing, Kite surfing, Surfing, Sailing and Kayaking are among the water sports you can enjoy in Florianopolis

Lagoa da Conceicao

Windsurfing and Kite Surfing:
A few Windsurfing and kite surfing schools and rentals are located in Lagoa da Conceicao, like OpenWinds and WindCenter . If you are an avid windsurfer or kite surfer and all you need is to rent your gear, you will be welcome here. But if you instead are just trying to "get your feet wet" in any of these sports, you will have also found the right place here. Friendly people will teach you the first ropes in a magnificent environment of crystal clear and warm water, with extensive shallow areas that make this place ideal to learn the sports. If you are already experienced, and you plan to bring your own gear with you then they will keep your gear safe and rigged here for a bargain fee.

Kayaking:
Cruising around this incredible salt water lagoon with your kayak would be among one of the most relaxing and enjoyable activities I could think of.

Hang-gliding and gliding:
Although no precisely a "Water Sport" -unless you miss your landing area and you end up in the lagoon- hang-gliding and gliding are increasingly becoming a favorite among people living and traveling to Florianopolis. The hills behind Lagoa da Conceicao offer a great launching platform for the passionate of the "Quiet Flying" sport.

Barra da Lagoa

Windsurfing and Kite Surfing:
For the advanced sailor that is looking for Wind & Waves, Barra da Lagoa is a great destination. Several miles of a great beach, with the right orientation to the wind and some good waves, this is a great spot. Plenty of accommodations available and excellent restaurants. See more about Barra within the interactive map area.

Surfing:
Passionate of surfing will also find Barra a great destination. A relaxed ambience with a laid back community that in some way reminds me of California.

Hang-gliding and gliding:
The "Morro" (hilltop by the point) is another favorite launching site among gliders.
